Long-time PeopleNet Leader Mark Kessler to Lead Trucking
MINNEAPOLIS, January 14, 2015— PeopleNet® (www.peoplenetonline.com), a Trimble® company and leading provider of fleet mobility technology, announced today the implementation of four newly developed business lines to better serve its customers unique needs. They are Trucking, Energy Services, Video Intelligence and Channels/OEMs.
The largest PeopleNet division is Trucking, which will be served by its new General Manager Mark Kessler. In this role, Kessler and his team will continue delivering excellent customer service to PeopleNet’s nearly 2,500 fleets. In addition, this division will focus its efforts on innovating new products and services to help fleets deliver more KPI’s and analytics in order to give fleets a competitive advantage in the marketplace.

Kessler is a transportation and logistics professional with 20 years of experience in sales, mergers and acquisition, strategic development, operations, customer service, product development, media and marketing. Kessler joined PeopleNet in 2000 in charge of sales and business development. With his leadership, PeopleNet’s customer roster has grown ten-fold to nearly 2,500 fleets that have implemented the company’s fleet mobility solution; including 40 of the top 100 fleets in North America. After selling a company that he started in college and prior to joining PeopleNet, Kessler was an executive at Randall-Reilly Media, overseeing many of its transportation media products. He co-founded Trucking Co. Magazine (now Commercial Carrier Journal) and also co-founded the Overdrive Truck Stop and Travel Guide; Partners in Business, etrucker.net, and Truckload Carrier Association’s Commercial Carrier University.
An active member of the industry, Kessler has served on the Board of Directors for the Truckload Carriers Association, the advisory board for the National Private Truck Council and several committees for the American Trucking Association. Kessler has a Master’s degree in finance and business from Auburn University, Auburn, AL, where he also received his undergraduate degree in International Business. Kessler and his wife Stacey, and children Aly Grace, Kate Elise, and Marcus Jr. live in Atlanta, Ga.
