CINCINNATI and MINNEAPOLIS, April 29, 2013 – PeopleNet®, the only provider of innovative open technology to the transportation industry that reduces cost per mile by integrating information across the entire organization, today announced that four employees became Certified Transportation Professionals (CTPs) at yesterday’s graduation ceremony, during the first day of the National Private Truck Council (NPTC) Education Management Conference and Exhibition being held in Cincinnati, April 28-30. Making the announcement, PeopleNet Senior Vice President of Operations Rick Ochsendorf said, “We congratulate this special group that now is part of an exceptionally knowledgeable community of trucking professionals who have a better understanding of our customers’ needs. Having the most CTPs in the industry ensures a large pool of PeopleNet experts in matters pertaining to private fleets.”
Gary Petty, NPTC President and CEO, explained how PeopleNet has robustly embraced this program with more CTPs than any other member organization. “PeopleNet’s 29 CTPs, the most of any NPTC member, demonstrate the company’s commitment to our industry and helping private fleets meet their challenges. Open to both Fleet and Allied members, CTP is the first step in a continuous journey to build a core of professionals who are setting standards for private fleets’ operations management.”
The four new PeopleNet CTPs are:
» Bryan Coyne, CTP – National Account Manager
» Trent Gilles, CTP – Project Manager, Professional Services
» Scott Stenberg, CTP – Customer Project Manager
» Kerri Tabor, CTP – Director, Integration Services
NPTC is the only source of comprehensive private-fleet training courses, which are an important part of earning CTP accreditation. The program is sponsored by the NPTC Institute, which provides training and certification programs that advance the professional skills and knowledge of all NPTC members. In order to maintain their designation, CTPs are required to support the program through continuing education and volunteer activities, such as attending and speaking at seminars and grading exams.
