10.29.08 - Drive Logistics Selects PeopleNet for International Operations
(October 29, 2008) Drive Logistics, a truckload carrier based in Windsor, Ont., has selected PeopleNet to assist in the management of its fleet. Drive Logistics provides cross-border truck transportation, among other services. PeopleNet is North America's leading provider of intelligent onboard communications and fleet management solutions.
Drive Logistics operates a fleet of 135 tractors and 237 trailers. The company takes part in a number of border security and expediting initiatives including the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) and the Free and Secure Trade (FAST). Time-specific team service between Canada and the U.S. is one of the company's specialties. The company's slogan is "Destination ... Excellence."
According to Steve Breault, operations manager, Drive Logistics moved from cell-phone based communications to PeopleNet's advanced onboard technology to meet customer requirements and enable company growth.
"We saw the need to optimize our operations, to increase our service capabilities," Breault said. "PeopleNet will help us realize that goal."
Drive Logistics is installing BLU, PeopleNet's driver-oriented onboard platform that delivers the full color, sound and power of a desktop computer in the truck cab. The company will use PeopleNet's PerformX application for vehicle and driver performance tracking and may add other options in the future.
For ease of use and overall efficiency, PeopleNet messaging and data has been integrated with and is accessible through Drive Logistics' enterprise software.
