Increased management and driver awareness promote safe driving habits

Through a partnership with SpeedGauge, a leading provider of patented analytics that enable fleets to identify high-risk driving behavior, the companies are offering a near real-time email that is sent when a driver triggers a speeding event, so that management—fleet manager, safety manager, driver manager—knows when and where the event has occurred. Commenting on the newly offered speed alerts announced at the American Trucking Association Exhibition and Conference being held today through Oct. 18 at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Dallas, COO Brian McLaughlin said, “In addition to increasing management awareness, the daily summary keeps safety top of mind by letting drivers know how many events they trigger each day. This timely information is critical for promoting safe driving habits on a daily basis as speeding continues to be cited as the number one CSA Unsafe Driver BASIC violation according to the FMCSA.”

For maximum operating flexibility, alerts and reports are highly configurable in terms of establishing notification and reporting thresholds. Fleets may determine how far over the speed limit a vehicle is traveling before an alert is sent and noted on a report.
