Sylvite Selects PeopleNet for North American Service
(July 22, 2008) Sylvite Transportation Group, Ltd., of Burlington, Ont., Canada, has selected PeopleNet for its truckload, LTL and dedicated trucking operations in North America.

According to Lucas Murua, vice president of operations for Sylvite Transportation, the 5-year-old trucking group currently runs a fleet of about 100 power units and 300 trailers offering truckload service throughout North America and LTL service in Canada with dedicated and expedited service as well.
Murua said Sylvite considered competing systems, but found that PeopleNet had the highest level of integration with the TMW dispatch system Sylvite uses. There were other reasons for selecting PeopleNet too.
"Our IT department researched the different offerings out there on the market. PeopleNet was the system they recommended from the start," Murua said, "all feedback came back positive."
Among those recommending PeopleNet were some Sylvite drivers.
"One driver in particular has a dedicated run going to one of PeopleNet's existing customers. My driver is in their terminal every day where he hears positive comments from their drivers," Murua said.
Murua said that Sylvite plans to use virtually all of PeopleNet's fleet management applications, including eDriver Logs, PerformX vehicle and driver information and PACOS, the geo-fencing application that automatically reports truck arrivals, departures and off-route deviations.
Murua said that Sylvite is forming a team within the company specifically to work with drivers based on PerformX reports.
"We're going to get the highest return on our investment as possible," Murua said.
