More than 200 Fleets Adopt PeopleNet in 2010

Integration, innovation, and increased ROI continue to attract new business and drive strong growth

MINNEAPOLIS, March 10, 2011 – PeopleNet, the leading provider of innovative and integrated onboard computing and mobile communications systems for effective fleet management, today announced that more than 200 fleets adopted its groundbreaking technology in 2010. About one-third of these firms were previously served by other technology providers, while 112 were replacing cell phones – a clear response to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s proposal to ban handheld cell phone use by commercial vehicle drivers. Innovation continues to be a PeopleNet strong suit, with its new optionally portable TABLET onboard computer and its revolutionary wireless roadside inspection solution leading the way in raising the industry’s safety standards. Total revenue for the 2010 fiscal year was up 39 percent over the previous fiscal year. According to PeopleNet CFO Michael Goergen, “Our results are due to continuing strong demand by all fleet types looking for more advanced tools to help them operate at top efficiency.”

Goergen added, “With 91 percent of PeopleNet-equipped vehicles now integrated with some type of back-office system, it’s clear that fleets are continuing to adopt integration as a cost-reduction strategy. In 2010 alone, we completed seven new integrations with back-office systems, bringing our total to 81, and we’re currently working with 14 new potential partners. We’ve also completed six integration enhancements, and have 16 more in the works.”

In addition to stronger integration, the promise of increased ROI has contributed to PeopleNet’s formidable growth. Its Professional Services organization, which is known for its success in speeding up and optimizing ROI, traveled over one million miles in 2010, helping 50 customers implement best practices and proven processes in the areas of  Integration Assistance, Custom Reporting, Automated Workflow Implementation, Guaranteed ROI/MPG Improvement, and eDriver Logs Implementation. Professional Services also conducted the company’s first two regional customer-training sessions, one in Minneapolis and one in Austin, Texas. The hands-on, in-depth two-day performance workshop for administrators, dispatchers, driver trainers, and other personnel equipped attendees to make a significant impact on their fleets’ operations.
